To help new clients develop a level of comfort and trust, building a therapeutic relationship is our first priority. We then begin taking a history in order to target healing needs and determine appropriate healing strategies. As a therapist, being attuned to each client and their unique needs is my most important task. My practice is always responsive to people first, inclusive of diversity in every form.

I provide psychotherapy through a trauma-informed, integrative lens, recognizing that many emotional struggles are rooted not in weakness, but in adaptive responses to difficult life experiences. My work combines compassionate listening with practical, evidence-informed therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual.

EMDR and Brainspotting, brain-based therapies, work by accessing the neural pathways associated with distress and past experiences and helping them re-emerge in ways that help us move forward.

Clients can expect a respectful, collaborative process where emotional safety comes first. We work at a pace that supports stability while gently exploring the experiences, patterns, and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck.

  • Gordon has been a Social Worker providing therapy and growth-oriented counselling for almost 20 years.

    He was a crisis worker at Stevenson Memorial Hospital for 13 years, working as part of a multi-dimensional team to help people find hope and get back on track. He has been in private practice for almost 10 years.

    During that time Gordon was increasingly struck by how often mental health issues can be rooted in past trauma and overwhelming negative experiences. He got trained in EMDR and Brainspotting to help him address this aspect of healing with clients.

    Gordon works primarily with adults and young adults over 16.

  • Anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, Bipolar disorder, failure to thrive, feeling stuck, emotional-regulation, and managing life changes/transitions.

    Specialties: Neurodiversity including ADHD and autism.

  • Standard evidence-based talk therapies: CBT, DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

    Trauma recovery therapies: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brain Spotting.

  • I used to dance for the National Ballet of Canada – I find joy in movement to music and use this when I need to feel more connected to myself.
